Yazoo surprisingly survived the explosion that killed his brothers - Kadja and Loz - and was found by a recovering Cloud where the blond's forgiving nature gave the silver haired remnant a second chance.

This is where Yazoo is from, a few months after Advent Children with a little more socialization skills and a more passive nature that has seen him become part of the strange Strife family. Before all of this the quiet middle brother was a target for all the tests that the scientist thought were too demeaning for Loz or seemingly too easy for Kadja which was why he had visible scars and mental ones, why he always watched silently as he was the one that was seen as the weakest link.
